When Jeannie Met Gelato...

Della Palma Gelato di Roma is now currently my favorite gelato place in all of Europe.

Now that is saying a lot because honestly every gelato place in Italy tastes beyond amazing.

But Della Palma was not only extra creamy and delicious but they also had amazing flavors and their shop is super cute.

I opted for 3 scoops on a cone: Nothing says "Hey I'm an American!" more than asking for 3 glutinous scoops of gelato in one sitting.

My flavors were: profiteroles, something called la luna which tasted like caramel and lastly (drum roll please) PEANUT BUTTER.

This is the one and only time we have found peanut butter gelato.

It was the greatest thing I have ever tasted.

It was so peanut buttery.

There were just these huge globs of peanut butter throughout the whole scoop.

One of the best things I've ever eaten.

Unique Italian Desserts

These desserts are from Della Palma Gelato di Roma my new favorite gelato place in all of Europe!

I didn't try any of them because I was too focused on the gelato.

But I thought I would put these pictures up to show how unique some of these little treats look.

I especially like the cake with the orange slices on them.

Small Travel Obsessions: Barcelona to Rome

I found "Instant Paella" inside a gift shop at the Barcelona airport.

My Dad made paella a few times when I was younger and it was delicious but it always seemed like a very elaborate dish to make.

I can't imagine how the instant one tastes.

Here's a picture of me drinking fresh apricot juice on the flight.

Jeff thought I was crazy but I don't think I have ever seen fresh fruit juice on a plane let alone apricot.

My first purchase in Rome was some lavender bubble bath.

1.) When I walked in the door I was offered a sprig of lavender wrapped in ribbon.

2.) The lady who helped me wrapped my purchase so carefully you would have thought I was giving it to the Queen of England.

3.) She finished the wrap job by tying a purple, fish net type ribbon around the bag then...are you ready for this....she sprayed the ribbon with lavender perfume.

Now this is what I call LIVING!

Tapas Dessert Cart

Jeff and I made it to Barcelona!

We spent most of our day going back and forth from our hotel to the airport to a shuttle downtown to drop off some of our luggage that we won't be needing till we are back from Italy.

That's right tomorrow we are going to Italy for 8 days.

I have never in my life wanted to go to Barcelona.

Not that I had anything against it but it just was never on my travel list.

Now that I am here I love it!

Tonight we had tapas for the first time ever.

Tapas are a mixture of different appetizers or snacks a.k.a miniature food!

I love miniature food and tonight I ate 4 mini sandwiches with different cured meats and cheeses.

Absolutely delicious.

Then for dessert the waiter wheeled over the dessert cart!

I have always wanted a dessert trolley that contained mini desserts wheeled over to me table side.

It was a dream come true and don't even get me started about the mini strawberry tart with miniature strawberries on it!

The waiter could see my excitement so I said "It's my first day in Barcelona."  He replied with "Happy Birthday."  He thought when I said first day that I said birthday.  This was one of many cultural/ translation mistakes that occurred today.

10 Pounds Slim!

Before I got on the boat I downloaded Chris Freytag's 10 pound slim down workout.

I love exercise videos....and not those crazy P90X ones but ones like this that make me feel cozy and good about myself.

Chris is so sweet and makes me feel like no one around is watching me.

I've been trying to run 6 miles 4-5 times a week and do one of her 5 videos everyday.

It's a lot but Chris is helping me through it.

See my problem is that running isn't shaping my body anymore.

But I don't want to give it up so I'm trying to incorporate more body sculpting videos.

To be frank I hate weights.

I would rather do 2 hours of cardio a day that do a little cardio and weight training.

But alas cardio only does so much for my body.

I haven't lost 10 pounds...I mean I haven't lost 1 pound but these videos are good and worth looking into.

Thanks Dad!

Because of my last post...my Dad sent me 20 bags of jalapeno beef jerky!

Thanks Dad!

I am eating a bag a day till I get off the ship.
